I love to cook! OK, let me rephrase. I love the idea of cooking. I’m always collecting new recipes to try. Just this week, I acquired a recipe for some delicious chili our new friends, the Jacobsons, made for us in Trabuco Canyon, CA. Sweet and spicy and delicious! Can’t wait to make it for friends back home!

But truth be told, as much as I love the idea of tackling new recipes, I usually default to the ones I have memorized and can throw together in twenty minutes or less.

My favorite dessert recipe is homemade brownies we started making when I was in middle school. Here is a video of how I make them and below is the recipe for you to try. Let me know how they turn out!

Ingredients:
1 cup oil (or 2 sticks butter)
1-1/2 cup flour
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsps vanilla
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
8 tbsps cocoa
¾ bag semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation:
Combine all dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
2. Stir in oil, eggs, and vanilla.
3. Stir in chocolate chips.
4. Bake on 350 for 25 minutes.
5. Let cool for 10 minutes; then cut into squares.

A little note: I think these taste best when name-brand chocolate chips and cocoa are used.  🙂
