Finding Hope That Lasts
We don’t always get to choose our circumstances, but we do get to choose the story our life tells.
When faced with challenging situations outside of our control, it’s easy to feel lost and hopeless. Ginny Owens uses her story of finding hope in the darkness to create music and books that offer a redemptive perspective on suffering. Ginny’s message is one of hope and purpose, and she wants you to know these are available to you.
Let your life tell a story of hope.
Experience Hope Through Ginny’s New Book, Singing in the Dark.
Learn the powerful ways of drawing closer to God through music and prayer.
THE NEW BOOK

AND ACCOMPANYING EP
BOTH OUT NOW!
“My hope was to create songs that are useful for reflection and worship, with strong, clear truths people will want to sing to themselves beyond Sunday morning,” Ginny said of the project.
The lyrics of Sing Hope in the Darkness were largely inspired during the writing of Ginny’s new book, Singing In The Dark.
What others are saying about the book:
“With gentleness and vulnerability, Ginny Owens leads us into an exploration of the songs of the Bible. Few things speak to me from Scripture more than the expressions of deep longings, joy, and pain expressed by so many of the real human souls we meet there. I’m captivated by Ginny’s ability to bring these passages to life by bridging to her own life. Who better than Ginny Owens to teach us all how to sing in the dark?”
~ Michael W. Smith, singer and songwriter, bestselling author, speaker, artist
“Ginny encourages me to sing through my own times of darkness, of walking through the valley when He asks us to.”
~ Joni Erickson Tada, CEO of Joni and Friends, global leader in disability advocacy, bestselling author, speaker, artist

Sometimes You Need a Voice of Hope in the Dark
Pursuing ultimate significance in work and achievements leaves us all disappointed and discouraged. It can feel like we are working hard to find meaning and purpose in this life, only to find ourselves more lost and confused than we were before. We can only experience true peace and joy when placing our hope in God. Ginny Owens helps us connect with Him and experience His true light through her new book, Singing in the Dark.
Ginny has been blind since age three, and most people assume that this has been her biggest struggle in life. But that simply isn’t true. In her books, music, and speaking engagements, Ginny shares about challenges that are easy for many of us to relate to—career, relationship, illness, and finding hope amidst these challenges. Like a friend over coffee, she shares her own doubts and insecurities through the lens of hopefulness, with humor, empathy, and humility, helping followers connect with God’s perfect voice of hope.
When we find ourselves in darkness, Ginny’s story gives us hope and points us back to God.

💛 LET US LOVE 💛
“We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.”
1 John 3:16-19 NLT
I had so much fun writing and recording in the studio with my friend @tyrusmorgan last week. So excited to be creating new music, and I can’t wait until I can share it with you! ☺️
Making time for creativity and artistry is a challenge sometimes! I want to encourage you to get your brain moving by writing your freehand thoughts for a few minutes each morning. Even if you’re not actively creating something and it feels more like a journal, your daily writing will start to exercise those creativity muscles no matter what kind of art you practice! Try it out, and let me know what you think! 😊
Be Still and Know has been out in the world for a whole week! WOW! ✨ These songs really are so meaningful so me, and I hope they fill you with joy and gratitude for all that God has done for us. 💛
Tell me! Which song do you have on repeat?? 🤩
I graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary this past Friday! Woohoo! 😃👩🏻🎓
I’d like to wax eloquent on my seminary experience and all that graduation means to me, but to be honest, life’s a little too crazy for that right now. Instead, here are 5 things the seminary experience taught me that I hope will encourage you:
1. God is now, and always has been, good.
2. It’s really true that the only way to eat an apple is one bite at a time. Writing twenty research papers taught me this.
3. The best way to face and conquer a challenge is not alone. Encouragers and prayer warriors make the hard journey meaningful and even delightful.
4. The Bible tells us the spellbinding story of God’s plan to save the world. He gave it to us so we’d read it, love it, and let it change us into people who live it.
5. Time spent talking to God in prayer and hearing Him speak in Scripture leads our hearts to erupt with joy, wonder, and awe.
I may be done with seminary, but I’m so thankful I’ll always get to keep learning about the boundless and awesome nature of God! 🥰
I love songwriting, especially when it’s with friends I haven’t gotten to see in a while. 💜 Today we managed to catch up, eat lunch, and write a really fabulous song in about four hours. So cool when that happens! Wish y’all could have been there. 😉
Not only did I get to release my EP and a new song today….. I’m graduating from seminary today! Woohoo! 👩🏻🎓
Celebrate with me by downloading, sharing, and listening to my new song, OUR FORTRESS. Link in bio. Happy listening, friends! 💜
BE STILL AND KNOW is finally out in the world!💜
My brand new song on the EP, “Our Fortress,” reminds me (and you) that God is great, perfect in power and strength. No matter what is happening around us or to us, belonging to Him means we are always safe inside His arms. Not one thing on earth can come between Him and us.
I began writing “Our Fortress” with my good friend Trevor Morgan while visiting him and his family in California five-ish years ago. I continued to work on the song in some significant moments, not the least of which was during my move from Nashville to NYC. I’m so thankful God is our hope and protection, even amidst the unknown. 🙏🏻
I hope this EP gives you a little glimpse of how good and great our God is. Will you give it a listen today, and share it with a friend who needs som encouragement? 😊
BE STILL AND KNOW, my new EP featuring the brand new song OUR FORTRESS, comes out Friday! It would be a huge help to me if you pre-save it using the link! ✨

Happy #WorldBrailleDay! I love this alphabet and couldn’t do life without it. I do everything from reading to using ATMs to making sure I go into the right restroom. 🤭
Perhaps some of you had a Christmas like mine: full of delightful hustle and bustle, until COVID came knocking. 🤒 Being sick is not the most fun way to spend precious time off, but I’m really glad to have an opportunity to celebrate a little more Christmas today!
@shereadstruth is spending this month studying the Life of Jesus, and I got to write today’s devotional, based on Luke 2! It’s all about the eyes that first gazed on Him.
My prayer for all of us this year is that we’d spend lots more of our time and energy gazing at Jesus—being caught up in the beauty and wonder of who He is, how He lived, and how deeply He loves us. ❤️
