OUT NOW
If you’re familiar with the original release, you’ll find a few new tracks!
- A piano version of “Don’t Waste Your Life”
- An updated version of “No Borders”
- “I Will Praise You” – acoustic
- “Never Be Another” (from the Vault)
The Secret album was mainly inspired by Philippians 4. The apostle Paul wrote this letter from prison to a church facing persecution, joyfully encouraging them with the great news that Christ is the secret to peace in any situation we’re in.
Or, as Elisabeth Elliott put it, “The secret is Christ in me, not me in a different set of circumstances.” Don’t you just love that?!
I first discovered this passage when I was walking through a trying season, and I wanted to know that joyful hope Paul had. The songs on this album emerged as I meditated on his words.
If you enjoy the music, I’d love it if you’d share it with a friend or family member you think would be encouraged by it! Thanks for listening!
With joy,
Ginny O

“My hope was to create songs that are useful for reflection and worship, with strong, clear truths people will want to sing to themselves beyond Sunday morning,” Ginny said of the project.
The lyrics of Sing Hope in the Darkness were largely inspired during the writing of Ginny’s new book, Singing In The Dark.
What others are saying about the book:
“With gentleness and vulnerability, Ginny Owens leads us into an exploration of the songs of the Bible. Few things speak to me from Scripture more than the expressions of deep longings, joy, and pain expressed by so many of the real human souls we meet there. I’m captivated by Ginny’s ability to bring these passages to life by bridging to her own life. Who better than Ginny Owens to teach us all how to sing in the dark?”
~ Michael W. Smith, singer and songwriter, bestselling author, speaker, artist
“Ginny encourages me to sing through my own times of darkness, of walking through the valley when He asks us to.”
~ Joni Erickson Tada, CEO of Joni and Friends, global leader in disability advocacy, bestselling author, speaker, artist

Sometimes You Need a Voice of Hope in the Dark
Pursuing ultimate significance in work and achievements leaves us all disappointed and discouraged. It can feel like we are working hard to find meaning and purpose in this life, only to find ourselves more lost and confused than we were before. We can only experience true peace and joy when placing our hope in God. Ginny Owens helps us connect with Him and experience His true light through her new book, Singing in the Dark.
Ginny has been blind since age three, and most people assume that this has been her biggest struggle in life. But that simply isn’t true. In her books, music, and speaking engagements, Ginny shares about challenges that are easy for many of us to relate to—career, relationship, illness, and finding hope amidst these challenges. Like a friend over coffee, she shares her own doubts and insecurities through the lens of hopefulness, with humor, empathy, and humility, helping followers connect with God’s perfect voice of hope.
When we find ourselves in darkness, Ginny’s story gives us hope and points us back to God.

WRITINGS
How Tim Keller Helped Shape My Faith
I’ve been thinking recently about how, behind each of us, there are people who have helped shape the way we see the world.
Story Matters
Several years ago it occurred to me that each of us is an unfolding story. We’re always being read by those around us. Not only that, but each of our stories is part of the greater, cosmic story God has been writing since the beginning of time.
Keeping the End in Mind
Do you ever get so lost in the details of your day that you don’t actually get anything accomplished? As an artist type, I have to draw up to-do lists and make mental notes of daily goals or I won’t accomplish anything.
The Wakeup Call
Have you ever gotten a wake-up call that permanently changed the way you think? I’ve gotten a few, but one in particular stands out to me today.
