Finding Hope That Lasts

We all find ourselves longing for more than this world can offer. By recognizing the hope available to us, even in the darkness, we can experience true joy and freedom.

We don’t always get to choose our circumstances, but we do get to choose the story our life tells.

When faced with challenging situations outside of our control, it’s easy to feel lost and hopeless. Ginny Owens uses her story of finding hope in the darkness to create music and books that offer a redemptive perspective on suffering. Ginny’s message is one of hope and purpose, and she wants you to know these are available to you.

Let your life tell a story of hope.

THE NEW BOOK

AND ACCOMPANYING EP

BOTH OUT NOW!

Sing Hope in the Darkness is Ginny’s first worship EP! Recorded at the Art House in Nashville, produced by Tyrus Morgan (Unspoken, We are Messengers), and mixed by Seth Tally (Sandra McCracken, Bethel), this organic, live offering features songs that run the gamut from modern worship to ancient hymns.

“My hope was to create songs that are useful for reflection and worship, with strong, clear truths people will want to sing to themselves beyond Sunday morning,” Ginny said of the project.

The lyrics of Sing Hope in the Darkness were largely inspired during the writing of Ginny’s new book, Singing In The Dark.

What others are saying about the book:

“With gentleness and vulnerability, Ginny Owens leads us into an exploration of the songs of the Bible. Few things speak to me from Scripture more than the expressions of deep longings, joy, and pain expressed by so many of the real human souls we meet there. I’m captivated by Ginny’s ability to bring these passages to life by bridging to her own life. Who better than Ginny Owens to teach us all how to sing in the dark?”
~ Michael W. Smith, singer and songwriter, bestselling author, speaker, artist

“Ginny encourages me to sing through my own times of darkness, of walking through the valley when He asks us to.”
~ Joni Erickson Tada, CEO of Joni and Friends, global leader in disability advocacy, bestselling author, speaker, artist

Sometimes You Need a Voice of Hope in the Dark

Pursuing ultimate significance in work and achievements leaves us all disappointed and discouraged. It can feel like we are working hard to find meaning and purpose in this life, only to find ourselves more lost and confused than we were before. We can only experience true peace and joy when placing our hope in God. Ginny Owens helps us connect with Him and experience His true light through her new book, Singing in the Dark.

Ginny has been blind since age three, and most people assume that this has been her biggest struggle in life. But that simply isn’t true. In her books, music, and speaking engagements, Ginny shares about challenges that are easy for many of us to relate to—career, relationship, illness, and finding hope amidst these challenges. Like a friend over coffee, she shares her own doubts and insecurities through the lens of hopefulness, with humor, empathy, and humility, helping followers connect with God’s perfect voice of hope.

When we find ourselves in darkness, Ginny’s story gives us hope and points us back to God.

Ginny’s Message:

You Have A Purpose

Despite your past failures or present weaknesses, you are part of a story that is much bigger than you, and far greater than anything you could ever imagine.

Gratitude Unlocks Contentment

When you feel unfulfilled, think about the things you are thankful for, and your anxiety will fade as your perspective changes.

Pain Is Not Your Enemy

The more we know God, the more we can see that our pain has purpose, and the less we’ll be defined by it.

Joy Is Possible

Joy is something we rarely talk about and experience even less, but it is possible. Joy is a real thing God longs for us to know firsthand.

I love this quote from one of C.S. Lewis's letters. God's kingdom is not only full of joy all the time, but joy is also what is taken most seriously. How beautiful is that? Think about it it for a minute. Heaven's agenda isn't just happiness or stiff choirs clothed in white. There's no settling for "good enough" or "happy" or "okay." Heaven isn't boring. It's joy. God takes joy seriously because there's no greater joy than the joy and redemption found in and through Jesus. 😄🙌🏻

I get the warm fuzzies when I think about how much joy God has in us, his children. Praying you feel his joy in you today! 💜

Singing in the Dark has almost been out for six whole months!!! 🥳 What do you think? Should we do another giveaway to celebrate? 👀🌸📚 ...

I hope you're all enjoying God's beautiful creation as the weather gets cooler and we move further into autumn! 🍂🍁🎃 What's your favorite part of this season? ...

Being inspired by scripture is always important and good! But one thing I love is how scripture challenges us in our obedience to God. It also challenges us in how we love and encourage each other. Three things about spiritual 🕊️UNITY🕊️ stand out to me from these verses in Hebrews:

☮️ Living in peace and living a holy life go hand in hand. Peace doesn't just mean a lack of fighting or shoving down your negative emotions: it's actively choosing unity through Christ with fellow believers.

💟 We have a call to look out for each other as a family of believers! That means calling each other out when we're falling short, encouraging each other when we're feeling low, and always pointing each other to the goodness and teachings of Jesus. We may not struggle with the same things, but we can always find unity together in Jesus.

✝️ Bitterness kills unity! When you allow bitterness to creep into your relationships, it opens the door to envy, anger, and distrust. To get rid of bitterness, you must actively invite God into the heart of why you feel bitter. Sometimes it's a daily practice!

I love how much you can unpack from just a few verses. I would love to hear your thoughts on unity! Why do you think it's important as a believer?🕊️

I’ve been in Dallas this week taking a seminary class on the biblical poets, and I made a sweet new BFF along the way!! 🐶 Seminary can be challenging, but I love learning about the beautiful words God gave the authors of the Bible so long ago. What have you been reading in the Bible recently? 📖 ...

How amazing and beautiful and unreal is it to think that prayer not only has great power, but that it intimately connects us to a great God. 🌸 What are some things you're praying for today? ...

My first trip to an art gallery in New York! What a delightful afternoon spending time with these two beautiful folks and learning about the many layers of color that make up this piece, Walking On Water. But perhaps the best part was thinking through how our brokenness can become part of our beautiful, both in life and in art. 🌊 ...

I’ve been loving this verse this summer. It reminds me that I am always dependent on something, and I should ask what that is.

Is it my goals? My inner grit? Someone else I hope will come through for me?

I'm reminded in these moments of reflection that God is the only being who never lets us down. Trusting Him leads to deeper dependence, more trust, and greater connection. And perfect peace.

What do you need to trust God with today? Let's lift each other up in prayer. 🙏🏻🕊️

“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” -James 3:17

I’ve been working on memorizing these words, so I can actually live by them. Anyone want to join me? Post a video of yourself saying or singing it and tag me! Scripture is always more fun when we learn it together! 📖😄

Happy first day of fall!! 🍂🍁🌻

I love listening to the sounds of nature as the leaves change and fall and the temperature gets colder. We live in such a beautiful world. I marvel at the changing seasons and how they reflect the changes in our own lives.

God's creation is so wonderful! I hope you and yours get to spend some time enjoying the changing weather together! 💛
...

Just reading this verse makes me feel braver, wiser, and more powerful than I felt before I read it. What catches my attention today is that the power this verse talks about is not connected to “power” words like force, strength, or boldness. It's talking about love and peace and self-control. 🕊🙌🏻

I love this reminder that God’s alternative to our fear is the Holy Spirit's power of love and wisdom. Even when we feel less than, He is more than enough. 💜

What verse is catching your eye today? ✝️
