Finding Hope That Lasts

We all find ourselves longing for more than this world can offer. By recognizing the hope available to us, even in the darkness, we can experience true joy and freedom.

We don’t always get to choose our circumstances, but we do get to choose the story our life tells.

When faced with challenging situations outside of our control, it’s easy to feel lost and hopeless. Ginny Owens uses her story of finding hope in the darkness to create music and books that offer a redemptive perspective on suffering. Ginny’s message is one of hope and purpose, and she wants you to know these are available to you.

Let your life tell a story of hope.

THE NEW BOOK

AND ACCOMPANYING EP

BOTH OUT NOW!

Sing Hope in the Darkness is Ginny’s first worship EP! Recorded at the Art House in Nashville, produced by Tyrus Morgan (Unspoken, We are Messengers), and mixed by Seth Tally (Sandra McCracken, Bethel), this organic, live offering features songs that run the gamut from modern worship to ancient hymns.

“My hope was to create songs that are useful for reflection and worship, with strong, clear truths people will want to sing to themselves beyond Sunday morning,” Ginny said of the project.

The lyrics of Sing Hope in the Darkness were largely inspired during the writing of Ginny’s new book, Singing In The Dark.

What others are saying about the book:

“With gentleness and vulnerability, Ginny Owens leads us into an exploration of the songs of the Bible. Few things speak to me from Scripture more than the expressions of deep longings, joy, and pain expressed by so many of the real human souls we meet there. I’m captivated by Ginny’s ability to bring these passages to life by bridging to her own life. Who better than Ginny Owens to teach us all how to sing in the dark?”
~ Michael W. Smith, singer and songwriter, bestselling author, speaker, artist

“Ginny encourages me to sing through my own times of darkness, of walking through the valley when He asks us to.”
~ Joni Erickson Tada, CEO of Joni and Friends, global leader in disability advocacy, bestselling author, speaker, artist

Sometimes You Need a Voice of Hope in the Dark

Pursuing ultimate significance in work and achievements leaves us all disappointed and discouraged. It can feel like we are working hard to find meaning and purpose in this life, only to find ourselves more lost and confused than we were before. We can only experience true peace and joy when placing our hope in God. Ginny Owens helps us connect with Him and experience His true light through her new book, Singing in the Dark.

Ginny has been blind since age three, and most people assume that this has been her biggest struggle in life. But that simply isn’t true. In her books, music, and speaking engagements, Ginny shares about challenges that are easy for many of us to relate to—career, relationship, illness, and finding hope amidst these challenges. Like a friend over coffee, she shares her own doubts and insecurities through the lens of hopefulness, with humor, empathy, and humility, helping followers connect with God’s perfect voice of hope.

When we find ourselves in darkness, Ginny’s story gives us hope and points us back to God.

Ginny’s Message:

You Have A Purpose

Despite your past failures or present weaknesses, you are part of a story that is much bigger than you, and far greater than anything you could ever imagine.

Gratitude Unlocks Contentment

When you feel unfulfilled, think about the things you are thankful for, and your anxiety will fade as your perspective changes.

Pain Is Not Your Enemy

The more we know God, the more we can see that our pain has purpose, and the less we’ll be defined by it.

Joy Is Possible

Joy is something we rarely talk about and experience even less, but it is possible. Joy is a real thing God longs for us to know firsthand.

"Remind me
You never abandon, You find me
No matter what happens, You're holding
Holding my heart in Your hands.
You're moving
When I can't see what You're doing
Your scars have already proven
Your love cannot be denied in my life.
Won't You remind me?"

I wrote the song Remind Me to remind myself and you of what God wants to us to know about him. He will never abandon his children because of how much he loves us! I pray he would remind all of us today of his presence and authority in our lives. 💜

There’s something so cozy about a hot mug of your favorite drink on a cold Sunday afternoon, isn’t there? Stay warm, friends!! ☕️ ...

The beginning of the year is always full of words like NEW and BETTER and IMPROVED. 🔥 And while those words are great...... when it comes to our souls, striving for better becomes tiring all on our own, doesn't it? 🥱 Sometimes, I think we focus so much on how we can better ourselves compared to the year before that we forget that we have been made new by the power of Jesus in us.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"🆕🆕🆕

I love this reminder. If we're living for Christ, we are new. Period. There's no diet or routine or goal that changes our hearts. Believing and knowing Jesus is our Savior is what changes us and makes us new.

The old is gone!! Let's live like it!!😊

Happy New Year's Eve, everyone!! I’m looking forward to the adventures we’ll find in 2022. 😊 What are you thankful for at the end of this year?
...

On Christmas Eve, I sometimes wonder if on the night before Jesus was born, all of heaven paused. I imagine the angels looked at each other smiling and thought, “They have no idea what’s coming. He will change EVERYTHING!” 🙌🏻

I think about Mary, a young, pregnant girl chosen to carry the salvation or the world. Maybe scared of God’s plan but willing to follow his words. 🤍

I see the joy on the shepherds’ faces as they beheld the Messiah their people had waited lifetimes for. 🐑

I think about the excitement of the wise men as they bowed before the prophesied king they’d traveled across the world to find. 👑

There are so many small moments of the Christmas story that almost bring me to tears. How much joy must’ve been in that night! How much hope. My prayer is that the wonder of this beloved story hits you in a new way this year. ✨

Take a look at the story of Jesus’s birth in Luke 2 and read along with me! Share your thoughts in the comments! 📖

Why does the busiest season of the year always seem to be the holidays? That's the time of year when we should be rekindling hope and finding peace!😮‍💨

I think we tend to look for peace in all the wrong places. I've fallen prey to busyness this year as well. With work, travel, and papers for seminary, I sometimes feel like I barely have time to breathe. That's why the word "advent" is such a sweet reminder. It whispers to us, "It's finally time. You won't have to wait much longer. Hope is HERE. You can breathe."🙌🏻🙌🏻

Jesus was born into busyness. His parents had traveled to another town to participate in a census and had nowhere to stay. That meant they were temporarily homeless when they went to Bethlehem. But all of heaven was EXPECTANT with the hope that was about to enter the world and save it.❤️

✨What do you feel expectant about this month?✨
...

I love how music brings us together around the holidays. Psalm 95:1-2 invites us to join in a chorus of praise and thanksgiving to God for all he has done. Christmas gives us the opportunity to praise him for sending his Son, Jesus, to us to save us from our sins. I could sing all day about that!❤️

What are your favorite songs to sing this time of year?🎶
...

As we enter the holiday season, my mind is drawn to the many traditions that surround it and us. Christmas carols, family meals, nativity scenes, light shows, giving gifts, church services. We're pulled as if by gravity towards home and family and self-reflection. This time of year is synonymous with a search for meaning.🌟

I'm always encouraged that when we celebrate the birth of our Saviour, so many lost souls return home to give faith "one last chance." But just because winter is the darkest time of the year doesn't mean there isn't light and hope to be found. I find lots of hope singing familiar Christmas songs.🎶

🎄What's your favorite Christmas tradition?🎄

We have a BRAND NEW lyric video out for Don’t You Dare!! 🤩 Link is in my story, so head on over and check it out. 🌸

I love sharing fun new things with you. What are some songs you guys want hear?
