Sometimes You Need a Voice of Hope in the Dark
Pursuing ultimate significance in work and achievements leaves us all disappointed and discouraged. It can feel like we are working hard to find meaning and purpose in this life, only to find ourselves more lost and confused than we were before. We can only experience true peace and joy when placing our hope in God. Ginny Owens helps us connect with Him and experience His true light through her new book, Singing in the Dark.
Ginny has been blind since age three, and most people assume that this has been her biggest struggle in life. But that simply isn’t true. In her books, music, and speaking engagements, Ginny shares about challenges that are easy for many of us to relate to—career, relationship, illness, and finding hope amidst these challenges. Like a friend over coffee, she shares her own doubts and insecurities through the lens of hopefulness, with humor, empathy, and humility, helping followers connect with God’s perfect voice of hope.

Meet Ginny
Ginny Owens has spent the past two decades sharing her heart with listeners and readers as a singer/songwriter, author, teacher, and advocate. Her unique musical style and inspirational lyrics transcend genre definition and have taken her to diverse venues, including the White House, the Sundance Film Festival, Lilith Fair, and the National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C. Ginny has also taught as an adjunct professor at her alma mater, Belmont University, served as a worship leader, partnered with nonprofits, and authored two books.
Spent some time with the lovely people of Fort Wayne last weekend! I’m so grateful for the conversations and opportunities God gives me to share his message of hope and love. 🤍

I'm so glad you've made it to our little corner of hope. 🤍 My name is Ginny, and I have the wonderful privilege of getting to work with many beautiful organizations and people as a speaker, singer, and author. I've recently jumped in to lead the amazing women of @redeemerlsq, and I'm so excited for our journey over the next few months.
A few fun facts about me:
🎹 Music is my favorite thing in the world! Doesn't matter if I'm making it, singing along, or just listening. I love it all!
🐶 I love dogs, especially super furry, huggable ones.
🍕 My favorite foods are pizza and cheesecake, except I’m sadly allergic to cheese. So I’d say guacamole and turkey pepperoni instead. (Not together, though! 😉)

God doesn't ask us to pray polite prayers. He wants us to engage in a real, authentic relationship with him. Approaching him that way may feel like weakness, but we actually get to rely on his strength when we're too afraid or angry or tired to move forward. He turns our weaknesses into singing and joy. I'm so thankful for the gift of prayer and conversing with God. 💜

A little life update... 👀👀
I have the tremendous, exciting honor of walking alongside the wonderful women of @redeemerlsq for the next several months! I’m looking forward to the meaningful conversations we’ll share and the times we’ll spend together studying and serving. (And I can’t wait to write songs inspired by our experiences.) 😊
My prayer is that as we do life together, our eyes will see more clearly and our hearts will be more captivated by the truth, love, and beauty of our great God. 🤍
